Custom Wood-Mode Cabinets Designed for Your Bay Area Home

I recently collaborated with Kristin McRae on my kitchen cabinet design. I am probably one of the most difficult clients because my requirements are not typical: - Schedule: I wanted my cabinets delivered in 3 months, right before Thanksgiving. - Precision: The cabinet design should be error-free to save time during install. They must fit into existing plumbing and electrical. - Style: I need a designer who can understand my aesthetics and overall vision for the design. You can see from the pictures that my cabinets are not typical ones that are trending on Pinterest. I want the design to be artistically balanced, personalized to my taste and decor, timeless, and have vintage vibes. - Cost: I need a designer who can understand trade-offs between cost and functionality. I know my kitchen and how to use it. I don't need fancy features. For example, I made a conscious decision NOT to include 2 Lazy Susans that not only impacted the aesthetic of the overall design but also increased cost and appeared to be useless for my application (my kitchen is big. I don't need optimize every little space.). Instead I added 6 big drawers as focal points. They provide plenty of useful space. - Practicality: I need a designer who understands what it takes to keep a kitchen clean and functional. She should be able to communicate and advise with logical reasoning. - Flexible: I like to explore design options until I am satisfied with the final version. I need to understand pros/cons and visualize design choices until I am happy with the results. I don't like to be rushed. Kristin turned out to be THE dream designer, who met all my requirements. I lost counts of how many times we restarted from scratch. Her flexibility, patience, and experience allowed me to come up with a design that is not only practical but also aesthetically pleasing. Just to show how patient and flexible she was: when I presented a new vent hood spec at the last minute, she changed her design to accommodate it because she understood I had been searching for an ideal hood throughout the design phase. She also spent an extra week validating the entire design to ensure everything is perfect. Her attention to details is even more than mine so I trusted her completely. After care: Kristin not only ordered VIP delivery service (making the experience stress-free for me: I didn't have to account for all the boxes delivered), she provided a diagram mapping cabinet ids to her design (making the installation easy), she made herself available for questions to my installers, and when there were damages during installation, she facilitated immediate reorder of the cabinet doors replacement at cost. Although there are many kitchen designers, the one that can be trusted with your dream is not easy to find. My advice is to find a designing company with not just good designers but also reputable cabinet manufacturers. Remember, everything in the kitchen can be updated with new materials, except the cabinets. Our old one lasted 60 years: it was made with solid maple. I expect mine to last another generation. It was a pleasure to work with Kristin. I will be sending friends to her as she experienced, careful, detailed, and easy to work with. Kristin's kitchen cabinet design met our aesthetic vision, budget, functionality, and schedule.

I absolutely loved working with Julie at Artistic Kitchen on our kitchen project. She was very knowledgeable and knew how to make our project happen. What I admire most about her is her ability to work around any problems and come up with even better solutions. Her attention to detail was key to making our kitchen look unique, beautiful, and functional. Going through a remodel is no easy task for anyone, but Julie made my experience a lot lighter by taking care of our kitchen. I felt at ease knowing that she was looking out for us and had our best interests in mind. Artistic Kitchen has a variety of products to choose from and in different budget ranges, but the value that Julie provides is invaluable! Will always recommend her to any of our friends and family who are going through a remodel, and I hope we are lucky enough to work with her again.

We recently worked with Julie Binik to design our dream kitchen, and she exceeded our expectations from day one. Her modern, sleek cabinet designs perfectly captured the vision we had in mind. Throughout the process, she was incredibly patient and attentive, listening closely to every detail we wanted and making us feel truly understood. One of her standout skills is her technical expertise: she transformed our discussions into 3D diagrams almost instantly, allowing us to visualize our kitchen and provide feedback right away. She iterated on our feedback quickly, always coming back with creative and thoughtful suggestions that not only addressed our concerns but improved the design overall. Once we finalized the designs, she flawlessly handled planning, order placement, and delivery, with a level of transparency and professionalism that made the entire experience stress-free. From start to finish, her execution was absolutely 5-star. We couldn’t be happier with the results and highly recommend her to anyone looking for a top-notch kitchen designer!

I love my new kitchen from Artistic! The agent that helped me, Mike, was excellent. His experience designing kitchens guided me away from some bad choices and towards much better choices. He had a lot of great ideas for how to best utilize tricky corners and crannies. Also his attention to details when it comes to trim, side panels, and discreetly hiding under cabinet lighting make the kitchen a whole league above the norm. Further, when I had a couple problems with cabinets that didn't quite work out as expected once it came to installing them, Mike and the whole Artistic Kitchen team had my back and worked on my behalf with the manufacturer to get me replacements quickly and affordably. Customer service is a top priority with Artistic Kitchen.

I came to Artistic Kitchen Design with my husband and we did not know what to expect. But we knew we needed help. Mike came out to our home, took a bunch of measurements, and produced a rendering design of what will become our new kitchen and laundry room. Mike sent us on our way to select appliances. We came back with our appliance specs and Mike began the process of completing the design based on the cabinets that we selected. Our selection of cabinets was based on how Mike saw our lifestyle and how we planned to use our future kitchen. The cabinets and appliances showed up and the work started. Mike was on-site to take delivery of the cabinets. We took our kitchen back to the studs and replaced everything. Mike was available to answer any questions our contractor had as they began to install the cabinetry. The contractor was extremely impressed with Mike’s measurements being spot on. The contractor followed the measurements that Mike indicated in the drawings. We are so pleased with our end product and love our new kitchen. We had no idea that our old kitchen space was as large as it was to accommodate a 9 foot island. Mike had a vision that we did not see at the beginning of this project. Thank you very much Artistic Kitchen Design Team!
