About DOCA

Cabinetry with almost no limits

DOCA is a European cabinetry maker from Barcelona, Spain, and has designed and built kitchens for more than forty years. Its reputation rests on one idea our designers love: almost anything can be made. DOCA's own representatives like to joke that the main limit on customization is common sense.

That freedom shows most in the materials. Through a partnership with Neolith, DOCA can clad cabinet doors, cabinet backs and even range hoods in stone. It offers lacquer in smooth, textured and glossy finishes, unusual species such as eucalyptus, and woods with a history, from reclaimed Finnish pine to oak preserved for centuries beneath Polish lakes. Inside, you choose from 14 cabinet interior materials in a range of colors and textures at no additional cost, so the inside of a cabinet is as considered as its face.

The engineering is just as thoughtful. Drawers are built on LEGRABOX metal drawer systems, a detail clients who know European kitchens look for. Fabric center panels let sound pass through the doors of a media wall, and because DOCA builds wardrobes and closets as well as kitchens, one design language can carry from room to room. You can see DOCA cabinetry on display at our Mountain View showroom, in the heart of Silicon Valley.

Materials

Two DOCA woods with a story

Grain

The Grain series begins on the outside of houses. In Finland and across Northern Europe, the pine boards that clad exterior walls are replaced every 100 to 125 years. DOCA salvages that reclaimed pine and builds it into three-layer panels: the weathered pine face, a plywood core and a new pine back.

Everything a century outdoors leaves behind stays in the wood, from pronounced grain and knots to holes and shifts in color, so every front is one of a kind.

Fossil Oak

The Marsh series, which DOCA calls Fossil Oak, is cut from oak preserved beneath lakes in Poland for centuries. Many of the trees are around 1,000 years old.

The wood comes out of the water in colors that range from warm orange and red to almost black, a depth of tone no stain can imitate.
